Job description

Primary Responsibilities:
Read Welding procedures and understand welding process.
FCAW Welding of primary joints of structural items and piping as per WPS, qualified to AWS D1.1 and ASME Section IX.
Attending the weld repair (if any) as per the procedure
Implementing the distortion control measures during welding activity
Grinding, Gouging and cleaning/Dress up of the work pieces & welds to the acceptable visual inspection requirements.
Capable to use various welding gauges and measuring tapes/instruments.
Ensure clean workplace and equipment. 
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education/Qualifications:
Education: Min. High School with relevant experience or Welding ITI/ Diploma certification.
Certificate/Qualification Records of welder performance qualification of various welding processes: FCAW & GMAW. 
Any additional qualification above this will be added advantage
Experience Required:
Min. 4-6 years’ experience in structural & piping welding in heavy fabrication industry with FCAW process (Mandatory)
Key Competencies & Skills:
Capable to weld with “FCAW & GMAW’’ process on structural steels.
Capable to read and interpret welding procedures.
Capable to read blueprints/drawings and interpret welding requirements.
Capable to produce PJP, CJP & 6G quality welds on various metals like carbon steel, stainless steel and alloy steels. 
Shall have sound technical knowledge welding & gouging processes.
Should be able to qualify third party welding qualification test in All position. 
Must have the knowledge of English speaking and writing (as all our procedures and forms in English). 
Expertise knowledge in tools required for welding and gouging (Gas burners, Grinding machines, welding/ gouging machines). 
Expert in welding machine setup, handling of shielding gases, consumable control and safe handling of power tools
Good communications skills
Quality Assurance
Carry out all duties in accordance with the QMS procedures and Work Instructions.
Contribute to general improvements in the quality and key activities of the department/area.
Health, Safety and Environment
Carry out all duties safely and in accordance with the Health & Safety Policy, Employee Handbook, procedures, training, and instructions.
To be safety conscious and report any safety hazards to the HSE representative.
