Position Overview
The Senior SAM Developer is responsible for designing, developing, configuring, and maintaining ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM) solutions to support effective software lifecycle management, license compliance, optimization, and cost control across the organization.
The role will work closely with Software Asset Management teams, IT Operations, Procurement, IT Security, Enterprise Architecture, Business Stakeholders, and external vendors to translate business requirements into scalable and efficient ServiceNow SAM solutions.
The Senior SAM Developer will provide technical leadership across the full SAM solution lifecycle, including requirements analysis, solution design, platform configuration, development, integrations, automation, testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will have strong hands-on experience with ServiceNow SAM Professional , ServiceNow platform development, software entitlement and licensing concepts, integrations, workflows, and automation.
Key Responsibilities
ServiceNow SAM Development
Design, develop, configure, and maintain ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM) solutions.
Implement and enhance SAM Professional capabilities based on business and compliance requirements.
Configure software models, publishers, products, entitlements, license metrics, and software installations.
Develop solutions for software license compliance, reconciliation, optimization, and software lifecycle management.
Configure workflows, approvals, business rules, notifications, and automation supporting SAM processes.
Develop and maintain custom applications, scripts, UI components, and platform configurations where required.
Ensure solutions follow ServiceNow best practices and minimize unnecessary customization.
Support ServiceNow platform upgrades and ensure SAM customizations remain upgrade-safe.
