Job Purpose
The Maintenance Foreman leads the maintenance team to ensure efficient operation of machinery and facilities, overseeing preventive and corrective maintenance, managing inventory, and minimizing downtime. The role collaborates with other departments to support production and enhance equipment reliability.
Key Accountability Areas
Supervision & Leadership:
Lead, supervise, and coordinate the maintenance team (technicians, electricians, mechanics) to ensure timely completion of tasks.
Assign daily tasks and provide training on maintenance procedures, safety, and equipment handling.
Preventative & Corrective Maintenance:
Develop and monitor preventive maintenance schedules to minimize breakdowns and improve equipment longevity.
Troubleshoot and perform repairs on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Equipment & Facility Maintenance:
Oversee the maintenance of production equipment (furnaces, mills, presses, etc.) and factory infrastructure (utilities, HVAC, electrical systems).
Inventory & Spare Parts Management:
Manage spare parts inventory, ensuring essential components are stocked and ordering replacements as needed.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
Track equipment performance and maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
Prepare reports for upper management, highlighting tasks, downtime, costs, and recurring issues.
Collaboration:
Coordinate with production and engineering teams to minimize downtime and implement equipment upgrades.
Role Accountability
HR Proficiency:
Training subordinates and forming a team to get the work effectively.
Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to subordinates in all aspects of their work.
Delegate sub-ordinates in each respective assignment.
Ensures fair distribution of tasks to maintain morale and motivation of subordinates.
Delivery:
Perform the planned activities to meet the operational and development targets as per delivery schedules.
Utilize resources effectively to achieve objectives within efficient cost and time.
Provide a periodic report formatted by detailing the deviation and execution of planned tasks.
Problem-Solving:
Resolve any related problems that arise and escalate any complex operational issues.
Quality:
Ensure quality requirements to develop effective quality control and processes including specifications for products or processes or related activities.
Business Process Improvements:
Coordinate well-defined written systems, policies, procedures, and seeking automations opportunities as much as possible.
Compliance:
Comply with related policy and procedures and work instructions.
Safety:
Ensure compliance of relevant safety, quality, and environmental management procedures and controls within defined area of work activity to guarantee safety, legislative compliance, and delivery of high-quality products/services.
Academic Qualification
Diploma Degree in Any relevant field
